Best Designer Ties – Dress in style and quality

Men will often spend more for what they consider to be the best designer ties. Most men only really need a handful of timeless high-quality ties to accommodate their wardrobe. The right designer tie can improve a lesser quality suit so paying a little extra is worth it.

When choosing the best designer tie you want to be careful and avoid just buying a tie because of the brand name. The tie may be made from inferior material and craftsmanship.

A quality tie is a combination of excellent material and craftsmanship

The best tie is a combination of superior material and excellent craftsmanship. The best ties are usually made of silk and somewhat firm to the touch even at the ends. This is and indication that the lining in the tie is good and the tie will last a long time. Ties of high quality also knot nicely.

The best ties are cut exactly to a 45 degree angle using what’s called a “on the bias” process. This process ensures the tie will fall straight (without curling) after the knot has been tied.

Checking how a tie will hang is a great way to test the quality of the tie. Hold the tie at its midpoint and it should hang straight. If it doesn’t it’s an indication that the tie is bound too tightly to the lining and that you shouldn’t buy it.

Last but not least you want to check to see if the tie is made of three pieces of material. Quite often the lesser quality ties are made from only two.
